The 7th Annual Seattle Brain Cancer Walk is less than a month away. The walk is on September 20th at Seattle’s Fisher Plaza this year. Registration opens at 8am and the walk starts officially at 9am, with closing festivities starting at 10am. We are looking forward to a day of HOPE and Inspiration as thousands of people from the brain tumor community will be walking to raise awareness for this devastating disease while also raising vitally important funds for brain cancer research and clinical trials. 100% of the funds raised go directly to support the work, research and clinical trials at The Ben and Catherine Ivy Center for Advanced Brain Tumor Treatment at Swedish Neuroscience Institute.
Dr. Charles Cobbs, the Gregory Foltz Endowed Director of The Ben and Catherine Ivy Center for Advanced Brain Tumor Treatment is looking forward to this year’s walk. To learn more about the walk and to register, please go to www.braincancerwalk.org and also see the link to the video of Dr. Cobbs discussing the Seattle Brain Cancer Walk and the impact it has on the work at the Ivy Center. https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?v=10152428104294234&set=vb.54964549233&type=2&theater .
If you don’t live in the Seattle area, you can still register to walk as a “Virtual Walker” and help raise funds wherever you are. The Tent of Honor, where pictures, poems, and stories of Brain Cancer patients are located, will again be a part of the walk. Gifts of Experience will also return as a wonderful way for brain tumor patients to receive donated experiences from Wine Tasting to Seahawks/Mariners tickets to Boat Rides and much more! Check in at the Gift of Experience Booth area early! Entertainers will again be positioned throughout the walk one mile walk loop path.
Last year, over 2,700 people participated in the Seattle Brain Cancer Walk.
